SciBiz International... Give us a call!

Charlie d'Estries, principle and founder, SciBiz International, has had a variety of experiences in his much traveled scientific business career. From the time he ordered his first Erlenmeyer flask, reflux condenser and Bunsen burner in the fifth grade, he has had a natural curiosity for science and all its manifestations. The original plan was to be a famous research scientist, and he had the chance when he worked for the eminent Stephen Benkovic, the Even Pugh Professor and Eberly Chair in Chemistry at the Pennsylvania State University. Alas, he never did finish his PhD, but instead took a left turn towards the business of science. While still inspired by the people who devote their lifetime to solving the world's greatest scientific problems, he became a recognized expert on the business side of life science markets, technologies and especially its people.

Some personal information...

Charlie pondering in Malibu, at his sister Gaby's home...

Married for 33 years (to the same woman!); my wife, Gail, and I have three beautiful children... Michael, 29... Noelle, 24.... Brielle, 19. Gail and I also give home care to Gail’s 92-year-old mother (which is interesting at times). Enjoy competitive sports such as racquetball, basketball, and softball; coach basketball, love to ski (although it has been a while) and play chess. Tutor chemistry to high school students. My favorite beer is Red Stripe; my friendliest wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Wolf Blass Vineyards from Australia. Play guitar, write children’s stories and songs; have written a novel ‘Late Whistle’ currently in review. I am also in the process of writing a book on business called 'Secrets of a Rug Merchant'. I can balance a salt shaker on its side, shoot a match out with a rubber band at five feet (probably the best reason to hire my services), and have a great shot from the corner; speak French well, enjoy professional speaking and I have a fairly outrageous sense of humor. I am very proficient in Windows applications computer software; and ready for a challenge at any time. I’m easy to work with, very flexible and am much better looking in person. I look forward to our paths crossing.

I have attended Charlie's seminars and there is one thing I can say for sure... you will walk away with a bunch of 'why didn't I think of that?' ideas-- regional sales manager at a very large life sciences company

Our company was in deep trouble; we had 60 people on staff with a pretty high burn rate and an excellent product, but no sales. Charlie came in and guided us through some of the toughest months I have ever experienced. We not only survived, but finished with a record year-- sales and marketing VP at a start-up company

Our sales people were screaming for leads... they never seemed to have enough, and generating those leads was expensive, and then the quality was suspect. As the person in charge of sales, I was wondering if I could ever send them enough good leads... until Charlie showed up. He taught my people how to become their own marketing department, and that helped my small marketing staff focus on the things we needed to accomplish. I recommend him to anyone who is looking to upgrade their lead-generation and overall sales effort-- VP sales at an established, mid-sized instrument company
